Chinese Law Program concluded

The Chinese Law Program jointly held by the College of Comparative Law and Law School of Charles Darwin University was successfully concluded on the afternoon of 28 June, 2016.

The Charles Darwin University sent 10 excellent undergraduate law students to study with the College of Comparative Law on Xueyuanlu Campus from 18 to 28 June. 

The program modules included Introduction to Chinese Legal System, Introduction to Chinese Constitutional Law, Investment Law, Securities Law, Chinese Company Law, Contract Law, Chinese Labour Law, Chinese Tort Law and Chinese Banking Law. All the modules were taught by faculties from the College, such as Prof. Gao Xiang, Prof. Zhu Weiyi, Prof. Liu Chengwei, A/Prof. Feng Kai, A/Prof. Hao Weihua, Dr. Greg Yang from the China-American Law Institute and Prof. Xie Libin from the Sino-German Law Institute.

The attendees also visited the Beijing Haidian District Court, famous international law firm and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. They had an in-depth exchange and communication opportunity with local lawyers and judges.

Through this summer program, the students not only gained a better understanding of China’s laws, but also got more insight of China’s legal system and legal culture. It helped to lay a proper foundation on their future career related to China’s laws.
