The College of Comparative Law held its Comparative Law Course Degree Authorization Evaluation Meeting on Xueyuanlu Campus on the morning of 27 June, 2016.
The College invited Prof. He Qinhua from East China University of Political Science and Law, Prof. Wang Jun from University of International Business and Economics, Prof. Wan Meng from Beijing Foreign Studies University, Prof. Shu Guoying from Law School and Prof. Tian Shiyong from Research and Evaluation Center of Legal Education of CUPL as the evaluation experts.
Dean of the College Gao Xiang, Secretary of the Party Branch & Associate Dean Wang Fang, Associate Dean Bao Zenghua, Associate Dean Lin Lin, Associate Dean Xie Libin and representatives of teaching faculty and students attended the meeting.
Dean Gao Xiang first made a general report on the degree authorization. He introduced the current situation and features of Comparative Law Course of the College in terms of profession positioning, cultivation goal, education resource, admission and selection, training process, dissertation, students events and employment development.
During the evaluation, the experts visited the College administrative area and College Library, and held an informal discussion with the representatives of teaching faculty and students. The experts got more insight about the construction and development situation of the Comparative Law Course, faculty’s teaching method and students’ career plan.
After an internal discussion, the experts provided the College with a detailed diagnostic evaluation comment. The experts gave a full recognition to College’s Comparative Law Course for its most advanced level it has reached in teaching and research area all over the country, especially for its scale and quality of student cultivation and diversity of profession orientation. The experts all agreed that after several years’ exploration and development, the College has already laid a solid foundation of subject to further develop the course. They also offered detailed advice and opinions to the College.
The University has asked each school and college to start the Master’s and Doctor’s degree authorization evaluation work since this March. It required each school to do a self-evaluation for the initial stage. One of the major methods of evaluation is to appoint experts from the same research area from home and abroad to provide assessment. This evaluation meeting is a significant part of the College’s self-evaluation on its Comparative Law Course Master’s and Doctor’s Degree Authorization.
