China Comparative Law Society held its Annual Meeting of year 2014 on 22-23, November at East China University of Political Science and Law. Over 140 experts and scholars from higher education and institutions like China University of Political Science and Law, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Institute of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Science, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law met on the event and attended the symposium on the Globalization of Law: China and the World.
After the grand opening, the members of the Society elected a new session of the board. The latest council includes Prof. Gao Hongjun from Tsinghua University as the President, Prof. Li Xiuqing from East China University of Political Science and Law as the Executive Deputy President, Prof. Wang Zhihua from China University of Political Science and Law as the Secretary in General, 11 deputy presidents and 16 members.
Several faculty members of the College of Comparative Law of CUPL were elected on board this time, including Dean Prof. Gao Xiang as Deputy President, Prof. Ding Mei as executive member, Xie Linbin, Zhang Tong, Liu Chengwei, Zhao Hong, Bo Yanna, Zhang Xuezhe, Feng Kai, Luo Yao, Chi Ying and Yuan Yi as council member.
Apart from the tenure-change election, attendees discussed on four major topics over the two-day symposium: the Rule of Law and the Development of Comparative Law, the Globalization of Law, the Theory of Comparative Law and Comparison of Judicial System, and the Comparison of Public Law and Private Law.
