The prize presentation ceremony of the ‘Jilai Future Law Horizon Cup’ and ‘Law Research Erudite Cup’ academic essay competition, hosted by the Graduate School of the University and organised by the editorial office of the Graduate Law and the CUPL Postgrad, was held on the Xueyuanlu Campus on the evening of 12 June, 2023.

Dignitaries including Executive Deputy Dean of the Graduate School Lu Chunlong, Director of the Beijing Jilai Law Firm Cao Ying and its founding partner Zhang He, Dean of the Law School Lei Lei, Dean of the School of Politics and Public Administration Pang Jinyou and Executive Deputy Dean of the of Guangming School of Journalism and Communication Yao Zejin attended the ceremony. Editor-in-Chief of the Graduate Law Wang Xiong, Editor-in-Chief of the CUPL Postgrad Zu Hao, all the editors of the two journals and the winners of the competition from more than 20 colleges and universities participated in the event.

Ge Jiawei, a year 2022 entering postgraduate student from the College, won the Special Prize of the first‘Law Research Erudite Cup’ national postgraduate academic essay competition with his work the Hidden Discourse Between Leviathan and Market: the Approach Based on Contextualism.

In addition to this prize, during the 2022-2023 academic year, student Ge won the First Prize of the Excellent Thesis of the Year 2022 by the National History of Foreign Legal Systems Society, the Third Prize of the 11th Essay Competition by the Zhang Jinfan Foundation for Legal History, and the Excellent Thesis Award of the 20th ‘Academic Newcomer’ Thesis Competition by the University. He also presented relevant paper in the Peking University’s doctoral students conference on the Foreign-Related Rule of Law in the Context of the British Law.
