The College held Overseas Studying Orientation for students who are going to study abroad this year on Xueyuanlu Campus on the afternoon of 30 June, 2023.
Dean of the College Xie Zhiyong, Chair of the College Council Wang Fang, Associate Dean of the College & Dean of the Sino-German Law Institute Xie Libin, Student Tutor Yang Mingquan and Staff of Administrative Office Sun Yang provided all overseas studying candidates a pre-trip training.
Xie Libin encouraged students who failed the TestDaF once to prepare for the German language test for foreign applicants to German universities (DSH) and the TestDaF on 8 July, and reminded them to take care of their physical and mental health while in Germany, during which students should help each other to overcome obstacles. He also called on students to make a reasonable plan for summer holiday, such as preparing related materials in advance and writing dissertation.
Wang Fang congratulated the students on their efforts to obtain the opportunity to study abroad and reminded them to take this opportunity to broaden their horizons and achieve their all-round development. At the same time, she asked the students to pay attention to personal and property safety, physical and mental health and other aspects.
Xie Zhiyong expressed his expectations of the students from personal safety, learning planning and other angles. In terms of personal safety, he talked about safety in the sense of social environment and safety in the sense of politics, reminding students to set up a sense of prevention and do a good job of self-protection. In terms of study planning, he pointed out that students should set higher requirements for themselves, make full use of their time in independent study to train their academic abilities, study foreign legal system, legal culture and legal methods seriously and achieve greater self-breakthrough.
Sun Yang explained the students's academic link before going abroad and after coming back, reminded the students to write dissertation as soon as possible degree thesis, and answered the questions of the students.
Yang Mingquan elaborated on the students' concerns about the procedures for going abroad, career planning and personal and property safety. She reminded the students to study hard and make full use of their opportunities abroad to broad their horizons and improv themselves in an all-round way.
The orientation explained in detail the difficulties and challenges students may face, fully answered the questions of the students, and provided the students with a direction of study and growth abroad.
