Studying Abroad Orientation held

The College held the Studying Abroad Orientation on Xueyuanlu Campus on the afternoon of 14 July, 2022. The participants included Dean of the College Xie Zhiyong, Chair of the College Council Wang Fang, Associate Dean of the College & Director of the Institute of Sino-German Law Xie Libin, Associate Dean of the College Liu Chengwei, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the School of Civil and Commercial Law who is also a fellow student of the Institute of Sino-German Law Yan Jingjing, Student Tutor Yang Mingquan, Director of College Foreign Affairs Li Li, Administrator of College Academic Affaris Sun Yang, and students who are going to study abroad this year. The form of the meeting was a combination of online and onsite. Yang Mingquan moderated the meeting.



Xie Zhiyong first congratulated every student on the opportunity to further their studies abroad, and encouraged them to complete their studies seriously abroad, maintain physical and mental health, and communicate with the College in time. He emphasized: “in case of emergency, the college will always be there for you”.


Wang Fang put forward specific requirements and suggestions on ideology, physical and mental health in the context of the current international situation and the pandemic situation both at home and abroad. In particular, she reminded students to pay attention to their personal safety and pandemic prevention, and blessed the students a successful overseas studying and safe return.


Xie Libin explained the importance of studying abroad and expected the students’ development after returning home. At the same time, he encouraged the students to broaden their horizons, communicate with foreign friends and blend in with local environment while ensuring safety.


Liu Chengwei encouraged the students to make full use of the opportunities of studying and exchanging abroad, experience the local culture, learn to deal with difficulties in life independently, and constantly improve their own abilities.


Yan Jingjing combined with her own experience in Germany, sharing the strategy of studying abroad in-depth for the students. She carried out detailed planning and guidance from the aspects of preparation, enrollment and employment back home, and patiently answered questions from the students. Li Li reminded students to pay attention to foreign affairs discipline and ensure personal safety, in particular, report to the College in a timely manner when special circumstances happen. Sun Yang specifically introduced the thesis defense, degree applications and other matters, hoping that students plan a good dissertation writing progress according to their own circumstances and have a good balance between domestic and foreign studies. Yang Mingquan summed up the content of the meeting, and introduced the regulations including how to remain one’s status as a student, dormitory management and the application for studying abroad in detail.


Through careful entrustment, experience sharing and policy explanation by college heads and administrative staff, the students were more familiar with relevant policies and regulations, and more aware of their own positioning and planning. The faculty wished them a safe and smooth trip abroad and return with achievement.
