The College held Overseas Studying Orientation for students who are going to study abroad this year on Xueyuanlu Campus on 6 July, 2021. Dean of the College Xie Zhiyong, Chair of the College Council Wang Fang, Associate Dean of the College & Dean of the Sino-German Law Institute Xie Libin, Associate Dean Liu Chengwei, Director of International Office of the School of Civil and Commercial Economics and Law of CUPL as well as a College alumnae Yan Jingjing, Director of Administrative Office of the College Liu Ming, Student Tutor Mingquan and all overseas studying candidates attended this annual event. Wang Fang moderated the meeting.
At the meeting, Liu Chengwei congratulated the students on their successful participation in the foreign exchange programs of the College. He made many suggestions to the students from aspects of life, study and foreign affairs management requirements and remind students to abide by the local laws and regulations as well as public order and good customs.
Then, Xie Libin helped students to analyze the current situation of the programs and put forward pertinent suggestions according to different situations. He looked forward to the future development of the students and also shared tips on how to stay physically and mentally healthy.
Later, Xie Zhiyong gave a speech. He earnestly urged the students to pay attention to safety, maintain physical and mental health, study hard and learn to gain. By analyzing the situation at home and abroad, combined with the future development goals of the College, he put forward requirements and high hopes for the students participating in their programs. Finally, he wished the students all the best and return home with full success.
In her speech, Wang Fang reminded the students to be more aware of safety and to pay attention to precautions in the fields of personal safety, mental health and ideology. She hoped that they would have more devotion to family and country, and wish them a happy study and happy life.
In the next session, Yan Jingjing shared her experience with students who are going to study in Germany. Based on her experience in the Sino-German exchange program, she gave a detailed account of the preparation and attention to be paid to the clothing, food, housing, transportation and other aspects of studying in Germany, and answered questions from the audiences.
After that, Liu Ming introduced to the students in detail the management of students studying abroad and the policy of linking up their studies at home and abroad. Yang Mingquan introduced the College’s student status policy, residence management and membership management of Party members.
During the Orientation, in order to strengthen the management of students studying abroad, the College also made further specific requirements for filling out the program commitment agreement and the record form of membership examination and approval for members of the CUPL Party to go abroad.
The training session was successfully concluded with the students’ longing for studying abroad and their gratitude for the help that the College provided.
According to preliminary statistics, there will be 21 students who are going to an international student in 2021, including those sent by the government and those who study at their own expense. The purpose of this pre-trip orienting seminar is to further strengthen the training and management of students studying abroad and help them complete their studies at home and abroad by focusing on explaining policies, sharing experiences and putting forward requirements.
