Vice President Ma Huaide, accompanied by the head of Teaching Department of the University, observed and guided an activity of the College’s primary-level teaching unit, the China-America Law Institute regular meeting on the afternoon of 7 May, 2019.

Director of the China-America Law Institute Feng Kai introduced the personnel construction and the features of the Institute, including the faculty’s advantages in their international education background and cross-discipline research. She then outlined the meeting’s main topics.

Firstly, Deputy Director He Qihao moderated the learning session of President Xi Jinping’s speech during his visit at CUPL. He combined the content of the speech with the University’s document on further enhancing and regulating post-graduate student supervisors’ work, sharing his views on the responsibilities of supervisors. A/Prof. Che Hu exchanged his opinions on how to help students build self-confidence during the lecture teaching and supervising with the audiences.

Secondly, Feng Kai moderated the discussion on revision on the training program for postgraduate students. The faculty discussed on the two most urgent tasks of the revision of the program and layout of thesis defense in depth. They reached an agreement on course setting, new module establishment, education system reform, pre-defense reform, reference standard, professional practice base and thesis defense standard.

Thirdly, the directors arranged the tasks for each faculty member on thesis assessment, thesis defense, publicity for new student admission and summer camp.
