The Symposium on Contract Law in Digital Economy Era: Challenge and Development was held on Xueyuanlu Campus on the morning of 25 Sept, 2017.

The meeting was co-hosted by the China-Europe Legal Research Center and the Institute of European Law of the College, and was co-funded by Prof. Zhang Tong’s 2017 project supported by the National Social Sciences Foundation of China and “Jean Monnet Programme”.

The symposium focused on the issues of the latest legislation on the EU’s digitalization development and digital contract, obstacles in providing digital contract and its implementation, new rules on the establishment and effect of electronic contract and the comparison on the Consumer Protection Act in Hong Kong, Singapore and the EU in 21 century. The participants also exchanged opinions on the newly released the General Provisions of the Civil Law of the People's Republic of China.
