The Institute of European Law organized a group of German scholars to visit the College’s partner school Gansu Institute of Political Science and Law during 26 Sept to 3 Oct, 2017.
This was the second academic exchange since the two schools established a cooperative relationship last year. This year visiting the Law School of Lanzhou University was also included in the tour.
Director of the Institute of European Law Prof. Zhang Tong hosted the event. The delegation included the former Dean of the Law School of Minster University Prof. Reiner Schulze, the Executive Associate Dean of the Law School of Augsburg University Prof. Thomas Möllers, the former Judge of the Minster Local Court Dr. Dorothee Schulze and Dr. Jin Jing from the School of Civil, Commercial and Economics of CUPL.
Organized and coordinated by Prof. Zhang Tong, the delegation attended the Sino-German Legal Education Forum with over a hundred teaching faculty and students on the morning of 27, Sept. In the afternoon, Prof. Reiner Schulze gave a lecture on Frontier Legal Issues in Europe’s Digitalization. Next morning Prof. Thomas Möllers gave a lecture on the German Prospective on the Relationship between Legal Dogmatic and Legal Methodology: A Case of the General Provisions of the Civil Law of the People's Republic of China. Dr. Dorothee Schulze gave a lecture on Development of the German Family Law in the afternoon.
The delegation visited the Old Campus and Yuzhong Campus of the Lanzhou University on 29 Sept. Prof. Reiner Schulze and Prof. Thomas Möllers presented the same lectures to the students.
The trip was warmly welcomed by the faculty and the students from both schools. It provided all parties with a valuable opportunity to communicate and exchange.
