Eugene Clark appointed as Visiting Professor

CUPL held the farewell ceremony for Prof. Edward Eugene Clark, the very first recipient of the Recruitment Program of Global Experts ('1000 Experts Project') at CUPL, and appointed him as a Visiting Professor of the university yesterday afternoon. President of CUPL Prof. Huang Jin attended the ceremony and awarded the letter of appointment to Prof. Clark.



Prof. Clark is well experienced in teaching and management with numerous academic achievements. He served as the Dean of five law schools as well as former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canberra, where he remains a tenured professor. He won the first Australian Prime Minister's Inaugural Teaching Excellence Awards. He started his three-year work at the College of Comparative Law of CUPL as the first recipient of '1000 Experts Project' since September, 2012.


During the time of his serive, Prof. Clark accomplished his working tasks to an distinguish extent, including setting up two modules E-Commerce and Internet Law, Policy and Practice for undergraduates and postgraduates, publishing 6 books and 7 articles, and serving for 4 editorial boards. He was also invited to be a columnist for China.Org and published over 150 articles, some of which were reposted and cited by international media. In addition, he was selected to serve on the Law Council of Australia's Legal Education Committee, and reported on several high-end international conferences in the US, Austria and Australia.



The ceremony was moderated by Vice President of CUPL Prof. Li Shuzhong. Representatives from the Personnel Department Wu Ping and Liu Huimin, representatives from the College of Comparative Law Gao Xiang, Lin Lin, Xie Libin, Liu Chengwei and Feng Kai attended the meeting.
