Mr. Mei Yuehua, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Finance, gave a lecture on Beijing City Business Tax to VAT Pilot Policy and Implementation Effect to the college students on Xueyuanlu campus on the evening of 28 April. Associate Prof. Cui Wei moderated the seminar.

Mei first introduced the background of VAT policy implementation. Then, he analyzed the overall deployment requirements of the pilot reform in the nation and specifically in Beijing. Mei also talked about the tax issues that happened in education industry.

During the interaction section, Mei Yuehua gave answers to the questions of the cognizance of general taxpayer after the tax policy reform and the comparison on commercial operation of general taxpayer and small-scale taxpayer.
