Research Centre of Roman Law and Italian Law donates Covid-19 prevention materials to Italian universities and hospitals

The Research Centre of Roman Law and Italian Law of CUPL, the Northwest University of Political Science and Law and Chinese alumni of the University of Rome Tor Vergata jointly sponsored the donation of Covid-19 prevention materials to hospitals like the Affiliated Hospital of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and other law schools in April, 2020.



Academic staff of the Research Centre, including Fei Anling, Wu Lan, Zhai Yuanjian, Luo Zhimin, Li Mei, Xu Wenming, Liu Jia'an, Chen Youliang, Lei Jia, Li Wenjing, Tao Qian, Weng Wuyao, Luo Guannan, Geng jianing, Guo Yihao and Ding Mei, actively participated in the donation.


The donated materials included more than 15,000 surgical masks, 5,000 N95 masks and 480 protective clothing, and the recipients of which were the Affiliated Hospital of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the School of Law of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the School of Law of the Sapienza University of Rome, the School of Law of the University of Bologna and the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. At present, the goods have all arrived in Rome and it was received by the University of Rome Tor Vergata, who would then pass the packages to other recipients.



In addition, Director of the Research Centre Prof. Fei Anling also organised a donation of 20,000 ICU medical masks to the University Hospital of Brescia in the worst-affected area of Italy, in collaboration with renowned Henan entrepreneur Dr. Jiang Ming, Prof. Antonio Saccoccio and Prof. Stefano Porcelli from the School of Law of the University of Brescia.


The University of Rome Tor Vergata and CUPL are the first universities in China to establish cooperation between Chinese and Italian universities in the field of legal research and training of legal talents, and it has been more than 31 years. Over 40 young scholars and students have visited the University of Rome Tor Vergata for their law degree or further study. So far, more than 20 of them have been teaching in more than 10 universities and colleges in China. CUPL also trained the very first Italian young scholar to obtain a Doctor of Law degree in China.


The CUPL sincerely hopes that China and Italy could successfully overcome the pandemic, and that China-Italy legal cooperation and exchanges would be more extensive and in-depth.
