Ningbo Maritime Court Delegation visits the Centre

Judge Chen Xiaoming, the Director of the Trial Supervision and Adjudication Division of Ningbo Maritime Court, and Judge Assistant Li Shuqin visited the College of Comparative Law and the Research Centre for Ascertainment of Foreign Law of CUPL on the afternoon of 27 May, 2019.



Dean of the College Prof. Xie Zhiyong met with the delegation. Director of the Centre Prof. Gao Xiang moderated the exchange meeting. Deputy Director of the Institute of China-America Law of the College A/Prof. He Qihao and Head of the Centre Office Li Li attended the meeting.


Xie Zhiyong first extended warm welcome to the delegation. He introduced the College's personnel and resource advantages in foreign law research and its aim to train international multi-ability students. He emphasised that the College attaches high importance to students' assemble internship, so enhancing the communication with legal practice is beneficial to the training of foreign related legal elites.



Chen Xiaoming expressed that the Division is dealing with a large amount of foreign law related cases which highly require relevant knowledge and experience. The aim of this visit was to seek thinking tank support by establishing a communicative platform and start framework cooperation with the Research Centre for Ascertainment of Foreign Law.


Gao Xiang then introduced the establishment background, experts' structure and current operation of the Centre, especially the experts' development on multi-language and multi-country law research.


Later, the two parties discussed in-depth on issues focusing on foreign law ascertainment, co-research on theoretical and practical programmes, co-establishing student internship base, and reached an agreement.
