Professor Mark Perry, from the University of New England, gave a lecture to the students on yesterday afternoon. The talk was about Information Technology and Biotechnology's influence on Intellectual Property Rights. Associate dean Prof. Lin Lin hosted the seminar.
As a law and computer science professor, Perry presented the nexus of technology and law vividly. During the seminar, he reviewed the advancement of technologies related to networking (the Internet) and life (biotechnology and food production). He addressed the problems that Information Technology and Biotechnology have brought to previously established Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) over the last decade.
