Professor Gao Xiang attended the Celebration Conference on 40th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) at invitation in Beijing on 25 June, 2021.

The celebration was co-hosted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. The conference was held both online and onsite, the online platform of which was a live broadcast for the global audience, and more than 46,000 people from nearly 40 countries and regions attended it.

At the conference, representatives from international organizations and Belt and Road countries, renowned legal scholars and dispute resolution experts at home and abroad had in-depth discussions on four topics, namely, the Experience and Challenges of CISG in China”, the CISG -- Providing Solutions for Belt and Road Trade Disputes, the CISG in the Digital Economy Era and the Dispute Resolution in Goods Trade, to share the latest practical results of the Convention in the settlement of disputes over the international sale of goods.

Gao Xiang delivered a speech on the Incoterms® and Their Application in the Context of CISG during the discussion.
