Xie Zhiyong attends China-France Seminar on the Role of the National Moral Ethics Committee in the Formulation of Legal Norms

At the invitation of the French Embassy, Dean of the College Prof. Xie Zhiyong attended and delivered a keynote speech online at the China-France Seminar on the Role of the National Moral Ethics Committee in the Formulation of Legal Norms for the 9th China-France Legal and Judicial Exchange Week hosted by the Embassy in Beijing on the afternoon of 20 May, 2022.



The conference was chaired by Anne-Charlotte Gros, Director of the French Civil Law Foundation. Ambassador of France to China Laurent Bili, Chairman of the French National Ethics Advisory Council Jean-François Delfraissy, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China Feng Chujian presented opening remarks.



Fourteen experts and scholars, including the National Advisory Council on Ethics, the National Council on Ethics, the National Conference on Ethics from French side and the Peking Union Medical College, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the People's University of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and CUPL from Chinese side, discussed two topics, the Role of Organizations and Committees in the Field of Ethics in the Formulation of Legal Norms and the Examples of Academic Research and Ethical Advice. In the first segment, Xie Zhiyong delivered a report entitled the Construction of Ethics Committee: Dilemma and Breakthrough.
