Celebrating 10th anniversary of the College: Symposium on Legal Issues in Establishing Cross-Strait Common Market held

The Law Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits and the Institute for the Law of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Regions of the College of Comparative Law co-organized the Symposium on Legal Issues in Establishing Cross-Strait Common Market on Xueyuanlu Campus on the afternoon of 19 April, 2019.

Experts and scholars in law, economics and social issues across the Taiwan Straits were invited to explore the legal issues focusing on establishing common market cross-Straits.

This event is also the first of the serial celebrating symposiums on the 10th Anniversary of the College.

Vice-President & Secretary-in-General of the China Law Society Mr. Zhang Mingqi, President of CUPL Prof. Huang Jin, Associate Dean of the College Prof. Lin Lin and former Dean of Law School of Soochow University Prof. Yang Zhen presented the opening remarks. A/Prof. Xu Yan, Director of the Institute for the Law of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Regions, moderated the opening ceremony.

The symposium consisted of three stages. The themes of first session was the Mechanism and Legal Approaches to Broaden cross-Straits Common Market, Legal Obstacles and Right Protection in Broadening cross-Straits Common Market and Legal Services in Broadening cross-Straits Common Market

Mr. Yin Baohu, Secretary-in-General of the Law Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits & Director of the China Legal Exchange Center, presented closing remarks.

The conference provided the participants with a better understanding of the necessity and urgency of establishing a cross-Straits common market as well as certain concrete solutions to the legal problems during the process.
