Portland Comparative Law Center & China-Europe Chamber of Commerce visit CCL

Prof. Mateusz Jagiela and Mr. Lukasz Osinski, on behalf of the Portland Comparative Law Center and the China-Europe Chamber of Commerce (in Portland), visited the College of Comparative Law on the morning of 10 May, 2018. Associate Dean of the College Prof. Lin Lin met with the guests on Xueyuanlu Campus.

Prof. Lin extended her warm welcome to the guests for their visit. She said that along with the development of Belt and Road, the College expects to promote the exchanges with the participating countries as a leading institution in comparative law to play a better role in using the law.   

President of the Chamber Mr. Lukasz Osinsk said that the aim of this visit is to lay a legal foundation on the expanding of the cooperation between Portland and China. Prof. Mateusz Jagiela said that as the trades between the two countries increase, Portland is facing a legal personnel shortage when it comes to the Chinese law. He hopes to establish a platform to cooperate with the College by this visit.

The two parties then shared opinions on Chinese-Polish Law Center establishment, teaching faculty and student exchange, summer school program, China-Europe Chamber of Commerce teaching and practice base establishment and scholarship set-up.  They reached an agreement and co-signed a letter of intent on cooperation.

Partner and Director Ms. Liu Li and Ms. Ma Lin from the Jundu Law Firm, Director of Comparative Law Institute Prof. Wang Zhihua, its Deputy Director Prof. Bo Yanna, A/Prof. Li Xiaohui, Foreign Affairs Secretary Ms. Li Li  from the College also attended the meeting.
