President of CUPL Prof. Huang Jin met with the German Academic Exchange Center (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst aka DAAD) experts of the evaluation group for the Sino-German Institute of Law on Xueyuanlu Campus on the afternoon of 4 May. The experts included group leader Dr. Christian Ganseuer, Prof. Gilbert Gornig, Prof. Astrid Stadler and Prof. Wang Shizhou. Ms. Justyna Polomski from the DAAD headquater and Vice-President of CUPL Prof. Ma Huaide also attended the meeting.
President Huang Jin introduced the Sino-German Institute of Law’s current operation on personnel training, scientific research, international exchange and social services to the evaluation group, and extended his appreciation to the DAAD’s support to the Institute. He pointed out that the President of China Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of the training of legal personnel when he was visiting CUPL, while the Sino-German Institute of Law has played an important role in the legal academic exchange between China and Germany as the German law teaching and research center. President Huang claimed that the University highly values the Sino-German Institute of Law and hopes this evaluation is able to conclude the Institute’s achievement as well as finding the problems, thus further enhancing the construction and development of the Institute.
Vice-President Ma Huaide summarized the operation of the Institute as pleasant mutual trust and cooperation, fruitful cooperation achievement and high attention from CUPL.
Group leader of the experts Dr. Christian Ganseuer introduced the procedure and process of the evaluation. On behalf of the DAAD, Ms. Justyna Polomski briefed the financial support from DAAD to the Institute.
During the meeting, the two parties also shared and exchanged opinions on other issues related to the development of the Institute.
Dean of the College of Comparative Law Prof. Gao Xiang, Dean of the Sino-German Institute of Law Prof. Xie Libin and its Deputy Dean Prof. Zhao Hong were also present.
