Sponsored by the China Law Society (CLS) and the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), organized by the College of Comparative Law, the Fourth China-Europe Legal Forum was held at Academic Auditorium on Xueyuanlu campus from 15-16 Oct, 2016.
Mr. ZHANG Mingqi, Vice President of CLS, Member & Standing Committee of National People’s Congress (NPC) and Vice Chairmanof Law Committee of the NPC moderated the opening ceremony. Mr. Chen Jiping, Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of CLS, Member & Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Vice Chairman of the Social and Legal Affairs Committee of CPPCC, Prof. SHI Yajun, Council Chairman of CUPL, Mr. Emilio PrietoAndres, Counsellor of Internal Affairs of the Embassy of Spain, Prof. Juha Raitio from School of Law of University of Helsinki, and Mr. Manuel Torres Salazar Partn from Garrigues Law Firm Beijing Office presented opening remarks.
After the opening ceremony, the revealing ceremony of the China-Europe Legal Research Center and the China-Europe Legal Training Base was also held.
This year’s theme was the “Innovation of Lawon Risk Regulation, Promoting ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative”. During the one day and a half forum, over 80 experts and scholars from France, Denmark, Finland, Portland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Vietnam and China discussed topics included: 1) Legal Risks in Cross Border Commerce; 2) Principles of Transnational Civil Procedure; 3) Principles for an Open Digital and Equitable Market (PODEM); 4) Influence of Brexit on the Cross-Border Trading between China and Europe.
