CEO of TransLegal Company from Sweden Mr. Michael Lindnerand its China Ceo Ms. Xu Shiyuan visited the College of Comparative Law on the afternoon of 8 April, 2016.
Vice-President Prof. Shi Jianzhong met with the delegation on Xueyuanlu Campus. Director of Information Department of University Library Ms. Liu Hongxia, Associate Dean of the College Prof. Lin Lin, and Director of Institute of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Law A/Prof. Xu Yan attended the meeting.
Prof. Shi Jianzhong first extended warm welcome to TransLegal’s second visit to China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). He addressed that CUPL is the right partner to choose to work on the World Law Dictionary project, as CUPL is the university that has most law subjects and courses in China. Prof. Shi claimed that the World Law Dictionary is along-term project, which is also a challenge to CUPL. It will provide a platform for all kinds of people who work in legal field, scholars, lawyers and businessmen. It is of high significance and value.
Mr. Lindner expressed his gratitude to Prof. Shi’s address and CUPL’s support to the project since the two parties signed the cooperation agreement in 2014. He then presented a detailed report on the establishment and progress of TransLegal Law Dictionary.
The two parties also discussed the latest implementation ofthe cooperation agreement.
Background:
The TransLegal Company selected one university specializing in law from each of major language countries all around the world to develop a project on building TransLegal Law Dictionary from all majo rlanguages to English. The China University of Political Science and Law is the only higher education institution it has chosen from Mandarin spoken area.
