Associate Professor Wang Chang won the Asian Pacific Leadership Award–Outstanding Contribution Award awarded by the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans in Minnesota State of the U.S. on 8 May, 2015. The Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans held an evening reception for the recipients when more than 400 state officers and community representatives were present.

The Asian Pacific Leadership Award honours exceptional Asianindividual and organization for three classification including "OutstandingContribution", " 'Lifetime Achievement', and " Humanitarianism ". Its recipients are all community leaders, professionals, enterprisers and Asian-Pacificorganizations. Prof. Wang Chang is the first Chinese recipient of this award.
