Gao Xiang and Liu Chengwei attend XIXth International Congress of Comparative Law and Juris Diversitas Conference

Dean of the College of Comparative Law Prof. Gao Xiang and Prof. Liu Chengwei were invited to attend the XIXth International Congress of Comparative Law in Vienna, Austria during 20-26 July, 2014. They submitted conference paper as Chinese country reports and Prof. Gao Xiang further presented his speech.

The International Congress of Comparative Law, as the top-level grand meeting, was launched in the year of 1900 in Paris, and it is held once every four years. The XIXth event was organized by the International Comparative Law Society, undertaken by Vienna University. More than 450 dignitaries met on this comparative law feast.

During the course of the conference, Dean Gao Xiang met with the President of America Comparative Law Society, organizer of the International Congress of Comparative Law and representatives from varies countries, and discussed the prospective mutual cooperation and development with them. Prof.Gao Xiang and Prof. Liu Chengwei also audited the annual meeting of the Congress.

Apart from that, Prof. Gao and Prof. Liu attended the Juris Diversitas Conference and presented a report on invitation in Marseilles, France on 17-19 July during this trip. Over 120 comparative law scholars attended this event.

It is significant to show CUPL's advantage on comparative law science and expand its influence on international arena by getting more involved in crucial conferences like International Congress of Comparative Law, hence enhancing the development of this subject.
