The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) recently appointed the Executive Chairman of the Commercial Law and Practice Commission of the China Chamber of International Commerce (ICC China) Professor Gao Xiang from the College as the Vice-Chair of ICC Global Commission on Commercial Law and Practice. This appointment is for a three-year term, and it is the first time that a Chinese expert has taken up a leading position on the commission.
ICC Global Commission on Commercial Law and Practice is committed to developing internationally common tools, standards and rules for global business and commercial transactions to facilitate cross-border trade. The Commission has a chair and four vice-chairs, whose main responsibilities are to support the leadership of Commission meetings, provide strategic advice on the development of the Commission work program, oversee the quality of the Commission's outputs and support global advocacy.
Prof. Gao Xiang's election will further strengthen the in-depth cooperation between ICC China and ICC, and better use the ICC platform to promote China's latest development and best practices in the field of commercial law. From now on, ICC China will actively support Gao Xiang to perform his duties, make full use of the ICC platform, issue more Chinese voices, tell more Chinese stories, and enhance the country's voice in the field of international commercial law.
